BOOM has been in existence since 2014 as a broad investigative journalism effort and as a full-fledged fake news busting and fact checking initiative since November 2016. We are India’s premier fact checking website, committed to bring to our readers verified facts rather than opinion. BOOM also writes pro-active fact files which serve to educate readers on key issues they might have questions about. Subjects that BOOM actively fact checks range from political, social, communal and health & medicine to products and services and even history.
2. How many people work or volunteer in the organization and what are their roles?
At BOOM, we run a newsroom of 20 employees across English, 4 Indian languages and 2 foreign territories. The team includes fact checkers, video producers, desk editors and verification trainers. We have provided their profiles in the About Us section of the website.

We have an appeals ID apart from a Contact us form where readers can write to us. We make the corrections and point it out clearly at the bottom of the story by adding an Editor's Note. We also express regret for the error, wherever required.
