Dogruluk Payi looks through statements on daily basis and editorial board picks statements based on their nature of whether they can be fact-checked or not, and the ratio of political parties / fact-checks, to make sure political parties take place in our fact-checks in a ratio with their representation in Turkish Parliament. A reader can easily check this ratio in our statistics section in our website.

In addition to president Erdoğan, all leaders of parties that are currently represented in Turkey’s parliament are listed here. Statements are fact-checked properly and without observable bias. In general there are more fact-checking cases related to government and president Erdoğan but this is due to their predominant representation in mainstream media. Still, the organization seems to have done its best to fact-check opposition politicians despite possible criticism that might be levelled at the organization.

In every of our fact-check, the resources that we use, including the source of the fact-checked statement, are provided in our website. They are just below the end of our fact-check, and easily accessible. No membership required to see the sources.
As Doğruluk Payı, we only use sources available to public. We don’t use whistleblows or payment required sources.
All statements we factcheck are either received from press agencies in Turkey that we are paying for membership, or statements made either on official Twitter accounts or made on TV which we have the footage that we also share in our fact-check.

As stated in the application, sources used to do fact-checking can be found immediately after the report. Statements that are fact-checked are found in open-access sources (no subscription or payment required) and they belong to either registered media organizations, official websites, official Twitter accounts or broadcasts on national TV channels. Information used to fact-check statements are again open access and official sites, whether national or international. All links are provided.
The signatory explicitly states that it does not use whistleblows or payment required sources and as far as I could observe this is true.

In the application two links are given:
http://www.dogrulukpayi.com/hakkimizda
http://ortakgelecek.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/OrtakGelecek_Web.pdf
The first only lists three major funding sources by linkable logos. However, then clicked on the logo, one goes to funding source home pages but specific financial information about the Doğruluk Payi cannot be found in these pages.
However, in the second list given, there is a PDF file that details all activities performed by the mother institution, “Ortak Gelecek için Diyalog Derneği” that includes Doğruluk Payı and finally on the page 17 there is a detailed account of funding from three major funding sources.
I suggest this data should be presented in the Doğruluk Payi website explicitly.

Here at http://www.dogrulukpayi.com/hakkimizda one section clearly states the methodology [Nasıl Değerlendiriyoruz?]
Statements are chosen to be fact-checked according to:
- A statement is chosen if it can be falsified or verified.
- A statement is chosen among controversial and publicly important topics.
When chosen a statement is assessed according to three main criteria:
- The statement is quantitatively or qualitatively compared to publicly available data.
- Quality of publicly available sources that hosts -quantitative or qualitative data.
- Intention and context of the statement.
Assessment results in a 5-level scale:
- There is truth.
- There is a significant amount of truth
- Partially true
- Highly not-true
- Not True. (All levels are then briefly explained)
In the mean time, two videos seem to be the same video and it is a promotional one and it does offer a detailed one like the written version does.

We constantly share visuals to call people to send claims to us. We use Facebook and Twitter for these calls all the time.
Here are two links that we call our readers to send us fact-checks.

As noted above there are many channels readers can reach out. Besides, the editors continuously call for claims as noted in two links:
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1849772438604393&substory_index=0&id=1437665699815071
https://twitter.com/dogrulukpayicom/status/832651817771102209?s=09
These calls themselves do not include “while making it clear what readers can legitimately expect will be fact-checked and what isn’t fact-checkable.” But this is clearly noted in the methodology part. As far as I could observer, editors are quick to respond to claims. Thus this can also be cleared in those interactions.

A section [Düzeltme Politikası] at http://www.dogrulukpayi.com/hakkimizda provides a public corrections policy.
It states that although they apply a universal methodology to fact-check, they are open to public correction demands. These demands can specifically be send to iletisim@dogrulukpayi.com. Editors will assess these requests.
Assessements will be revised if there are newer and updated sources that fit in editorial criteria provided. If the requests are related to the source content itself (like the press agency news), the editors will wait for the source itself to revise its content first. Then this will lead to Doğruluk Payı reassessement. However, editors may temporarily unpublish the analysis until the source problem is resolved
