I think the fact-check initiative called Krypomenter, a joint project of Internews Kosova and BIRN, is compliant as a whole with the principles and can be accepted. After the assessment of the specific criteria, it appears that Krypometer is an exclusive fact-checking initiative that operates under a legally registered organization. The quality of reporting is evaluated based on the stories published in the previous three months, March-May 2017. The general conclusion is that the reporting appears to be in compliance with the principles of fairness, nonpartisanship and based on facts. The fact-check methodology is explained and readers are encouraged to get involved in this initiative. Although in most cases sufficient information is provided regarding the source of the claim, a direct link to the source is missing in some stories. Information is sufficiently available about the organization, its employees and the financial resources. Lastly, there is evidence that the organization has corrected its stories in the past year when it has made an error, although a public correction policy is not made available to the readers.

It is quite visible to the reader that Krypometer is part of Internews Kosova which is a legally registered non-governmental organization in Kosovo. The purpose of the initiative and methodology of fact-checking is clear and available for the public. In the previous three months, March-May 2017, Krypometer has published in total 14 reports that evaluate distinct claims made by high-level politicians. Overall, Krypomenter provides sufficient information about the source of the claim, which in some cases comes from outside sources (other media) and in other cases it comes from reporting done by the organization itself. In both cases the reader is provided with details regarding the time and place of the given statements.
