Experience

Researcher and professor of journalism since 2001, today I serve as Assistant Dean of International Relations and Communication at the Faculty of Communication, University of Málaga (Spain). PhD in Journalism (2005) from the University of Málaga (UMA) on a thesis on satirical communication in the press, my interests are focused, in addition to humor as a communicative vehicle, in archives, resources and verification of information in line with my teaching activity devoted to 'News Archives' in the Degree in Journalism (UMA) and to 'Management and Dissemination of Knowledge' in the Master's Degree in Research in Media, Audiences and Professional Practice in Europe (UMA). I have been part of a dozen of funded research projects, some of them international, the result of which are, among other publications, the books of which I am co-author: 'Media and identity. Comparative study of two European regions: Andalusia and Aquitaine (1960-2005)' (2015); 'The statute of the event (I)' (2015) and 'Literary Journalism and Civil War' (2020). I have also published numerous papers in scientific journals and I am the author of twenty chapters in collective books. Member of the scientific committee of Spanish journal 'Tebeosfera' and Document Consultant for the journal 'TSN. Transatlantic Studies Network'. I am coordinator of one of the sections of the Spanish Associatiation for Communicaction Research (AE-IC) and member of the Association of Communication Historians (AHC), Presse, Imprimés, Lecture dans l'Aire Romane (PILAR), European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) and Academic Hub on Comic in Spanish (PACE).
